Happie ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

We believe in being transparent and straightforward about data collection. We only collect what's necessary to provide our service, and we never sell your personal information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address - Used for account authentication and communication
• Display name - Shown to other users in your groups
• Profile photo (optional) - Displayed to group members

Usage Information

When you use Happie, we collect:

• Group memberships - Which groups you've joined
• Meal votes - Your yes/no votes on meals
• Dinner responses - Your responses to dinner requests
• Saved recipes - Recipes you've added to your wishlist

Device Information

We may collect:

• Push notification tokens - To send you dinner reminders and updates
• Device type and OS version - For app compatibility and debugging

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Allow you to join groups and participate in meal planning
• Show your name and responses to group members
• Send push notifications for dinner requests and reminders (if enabled)
• Improve our app and fix bugs
• Communicate important updates about the service

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure authentication
• Regular security updates
• Access controls and monitoring

While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Data Sharing

We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

• With group members - Your name, responses, and votes are visible to members of groups you join
• Service providers - We use Supabase for data storage. They process data on our behalf under strict agreements
• Legal requirements - If required by law or to protect our rights

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data - View the information we have about you
• Update your data - Edit your profile information anytime
• Delete your data - Permanently remove your account and all associated data
• Opt out of notifications - Disable push notifications in your device settings

How to Delete Your Data

To delete your account and all associated data, go to Profile → Delete Account in the app. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All your personal data, group memberships, votes, and saved recipes will be removed.

Children's Privacy

Happie is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Happie after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
